We've worked with The International Campaign for Women's Right to Safe Abortion for a few years, since we started hosting their old WordPress website while Sarah at Kestrel Copy fixed it up. When the time came for an upgrade we put in a bid and were thrilled to have our proposal accepted, working in partnership with Wave.coop.

We held a planning session with Wave and SAWR to create the new architecture, ensuring that their deep archives of news and libraries of articles were presented optimally for findability and accessibility.

The project was not altogether straightforward because the environment for campaigning NGOs is demanding and at one stage we had to pause for a few months while the campaign focussed on overcoming irl challenges, but we persevered together and were really happy with the outcome!

The ICWRSA Annual Report January 2020 – December 2021 details the success of the new website.

We were delighted to launch the new website in October 2020. At over four years of age, our previous website had been in need of an overhaul for some time, so we teamed up with socially-conscious web developers GreenNet and design cooperative Wave to revitalise our digital presence. Development of the site has been ongoing throughout 2021. The new site features better images, easier navigation, optimisation for mobile devices, and more resources to help support our network of member organisations and individuals working tirelessly for women’s right to safe abortion worldwide.

This website is hosted Green - checked by thegreenwebfoundation.orgThe new website features a stunning custom visual design by Karen at Wave, coded as a fully responsive custom WordPress theme by Julian at Wave, Liz at GreenNet handled the complex content migration, and it's all hosted on GreenNet's renewably powered servers!
