Help the Rainforest Foundation put pressure on the Congolese Government and the World Bank to keep the moratorium on logging, prevent irreversible damage to wildlife habitat, and help local communities gain greater control of their forest homes.
Sign the petition to the World Bank and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo to maintain a ban on the granting of new logging permits in the rainforest.
Another way of helping this campaign and all of our work with the rainforests and indigenous peoples of the world is by giving a donation. Whatever the amount of your donation, one click below can make a real difference to our work.
The Rainforest Foundation, along with other organisations such as Greenpeace and Global Witness, has been raising the alarm about intended World Bank plans in DRC’s forests for nearly a decade. Following the our most recent letter of concern to the Bank at the end of 2010, we received a response (three months later) which we feel, once again, fails to address our concerns. The Bank requested that we and the other signatory organisations, place its response on our websites – which we have decided to do, along with the original letter, and our response to the Bank’s reply. In addition, we are making available a list of all the correspondence from us and other NGOs going back to 2002.
