Liberty has advised that the proposed Metropolitan Police restrictions on the route of the Stop The War march are disproportionate and contrary to the Human Rights Act. However, whilst this restriction might be challengeable in future legal action after the march, it may not prevent the police from arresting and detaining individuals who join in the demonstration.
