2026 marks the fortieth anniversary of GreenNet's registration as a company in 1986, (we understand that Mitra set up and started the organisation in 1985).
In the early days, GreenNet was responsible for settig up some of the first non-government and non-corporate international computer networks - before the World Wide Web, not to mention the social media platforms!
Notable episodes from GreenNet's history can be found on our wikipedia page, and in more detail here on our website,
We're looking forward very much to getting together with GreenNet's friends; current and former staff, users, collaborators and allies next Friday for cake and nibbles - if you would like to join us and didnt receive an invitation, please contact support@gn.apc.org for details :)
