Five acres of Ancient Woodland will be destroyed to make way for a 2-mile bypass. Local residents have fought a 10-year battle to stop this road but their voices have been ignored and work started on 29th January.
Two activists stopped work on the first day and they have managed to stop work every day since with the help of a few more activists and local residents. However, they are still outnumbered by contractors and security staff.
People are needed for day actions, or to stay longer if possible. (The site is also appealing for 10mm polyprop, urgently!)
Help is needed not only on site, but to spread the word as far as possible, and to people who are not on the internet and who probably haven't heard about this new protest site.
